Industrial Training Institute (ITI) are training institutes which offer range of vocational/skill training courses covering a large number of economic sectors with an objective to provide skilled workforce to the industry as well as self-employment of youth. They provide post-school technical as well as vocational training courses leading to lifelong career in one or two year skill courses.
These institutes are set up under Directorate General of Training (DGT), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of IndiaThe training courses have been designed to impart basic skills and knowledge in the trades so as to prepare trainee for employment as a semiskilled worker or for self-employment. National Trade Certificate (NTC) is awarded to successful trainees of NCVT affiliated trades of ITIs. NTC has National/ international recognition for purpose of employment/ self-employment.
In continuation with this motto of providing education to all and to earn a livelihood, Pune Cantonment Board has decided to start an ITI which will lead to life long career from one or two years skill courses. They also cater the need of skilled work force to nearby manufacturing and service industry. five Courses have been offered in ITI of Pune Cantonment Board.
The Directorate of Vocational Education Training Govt. of Maharashtra conducted inspection of proposed ITI on 29.06.2018 at Dr. Ambedkar Memorial High School, Pune Cantt and submitted report to the NCVT New Delhi. The Member Secretary Dy. DG (T&E), Ministry of Skill Dev. & Entrepreneurship and his team along with officials of Govt. of Maharashtra visited the ITI workshop and conducted the inspection himself on 31.08.2018. The Affiliation certificate is given on 05.09.2018 at New Delhi by Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, the Hon'ble Minister Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Govt of India. The first session i.e. 2018 - 2020 is starting on 02.10.2018. Certainly it will begin a new era of boon for the 10th and 12th passed students who could not afford further education due to various personal and financial reasons as well as academic performance.
Motor Mechanic Vehicle:- This stream focuses on making an individual technically sound, when it comes to the core concepts of the automotive engineering, right from troubleshooting to overall maintenence of the vehicle and overhauling the engine is all covered under the curriculam this will help the individual with a brighter future in not only aftersales but also on the production line in industry.
Computer Hardware and Network Maintenence:- Aims to support and maintain computer systems, desktops and peripherials. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading all hardware and equiptment while ensuring optimal workstation performance.The person will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate manner ansd provide end user training and assistance wherever required also maintain and setup LAN with internet connection.
Plumbar:- The branch includes installation, repair of plumbing system including those of advance sanitary fixtures which are as per manufacturer's specification in housing, commercial and industrial setup.
Draughtsman Civil:- Deriving from the branch of civil engineering it aims to clear the core basics of the branch, from basic engineering drawing to land surveying and all the respective insights are covered under this trade,it also focuses on digitization of constructional drawings.
Draughtsman Mechanical:- This trade focuses on engineering drawing as a standard protocal for referal of machine components. Standardisation of drawing in the industry helps to ease up trade between companies by sharing technology and thus further ease up the manufacturing of the machine components.Moving with the industry it also covers computer oriented designing softwares like CAD.
